The Mile.

Its almost 11pm and I'm looking forward to putting my head on the pillow & calling it a day..
Tomorrow ill be up at 5.30 preparing for a race I have no experience in & the opportunity
to make $10,000 in about 20mins.
Given my experience with open water swimming in general & with the temperature of the water
(14-15 deg celsius) I'd go as far as saying the odds are stacked against me.
Although the prize money was the drawcard to coming, I don't want to put pressure on myself
to win. I will be satisfied to make the swim at all or even a top 10 finish..
This is an opportunity to do something i have never done before and something few people
can say they have done... Also anything can happen...

The line below in the circle is the mile long course (Angel Island to Tiburon), below & towards the right is the Golden Gate Bridge & on the right of Angel Island is is Alcatraz Island.

Codies killing it..

Our first session swimming with a group over here Codie forgot his swim suit and decided to do the whole session in his shorts and undies. BRAVE..! He then decided to try and convince the locals that its just the norm in Australia. I still can't quite grasp why they didn't believe him...

Pick-A-Pearl..

One of the spontaneous things we did while in Hawaii was Pick-A-Pearl, It's basically oyster lucky dip. After picking our oyster we blessed it and cracked it open. We were lucky enough to score this sucker that we got made into a simple yet elegant necklace. We were on a tight budget of sorts & this was great as it was relatively low cost, you take something home with you & it was one of those lasting memories that stick in your mind when you go back to the daily grind.
